Dear Friends in Christ

Recently there has been some very interesting statistical information come out about the economy, the churched, and the unchurched in America. I have put together some links and info from LifeWay for you. Some of this is especially interesting about how the economy is effecting us both good and bad, especially in sharing the love of Jesus with others. I hope you take the time to read some of this and find it helpful in your ministry.

Love in Christ Jesus, Jack

LifeWay Research conducted this study for the North American Mission Board to determine Americans' receptivity to different communication methods from churches. This survey of over 15,000 Americans reveals their willingness to receive information about a local congregation and how effective they believe each approach to inviting them to church would be.

LifeWay Research: Americans open to outreach from churches

LifeWay Research: Bad Economy Challenges Churches but Provides Opportunities

Ed Stetzer, director of LifeWay Research, partnered with Richie Stanley, director of research at the North American Mission Board's Center for Missional Research, and Jason Hayes, young adult ministry specialist at LifeWay Christian Resources where he serves as the leading voice for Threads, to co-author the new book Lost and Found: The Younger Unchurched and Churches That Reach Them. This book is designed to not only help church leaders understand the young adults they are trying to reach, but also see some practical examples of how to effectively minister to young adults today.

LifeWay Research finds unchurched 20-somethings more open than older unchurched

This article shares findings from the research for Lost and Found that shows that young adults who don't attend church hold some more historically Christian views than older adults.
